Times Square is a major commercial intersection, tourist destination, entertainment center and neighborhood in the Midtown Manhattan section of New York City at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue. It stretches from West 42nd to West 47th Streets. Brightly adorned with billboards and advertisements, Times Square is sometimes referred to as "The Crossroads of the World", "The Center of the Universe", "the heart of The Great White Way" and the "heart of the world". One of the world's busiest pedestrian areas, it is also the hub of the Broadway Theater District and a major center of the world's entertainment industry. Times Square is one of the world's most visited tourist attractions, drawing an estimated 50 million visitors annually. Approximately 330,000 people pass through Times Square daily, many of them tourists, while over 460,000 pedestrians walk through Times Square on its busiest days. [Source: wiki]

Many people come to Times Square for the ambiance and the billboards spectacle, but there are also many restaurants and shops - well over 100 - in the area including some crowd-pullers such as the Disney Store. But Times Square is best known for its entertainment and Events in New York and plenty of visitors come here to attend a Broadway show. Times Square is also home to MTV's headquarters and ABC's 'Good Morning America' is broadcast in front of a live audience from its office at 44th and Broadway.

For most of its existence Times Square wasn't much more than a large traffic intersection, but it is now being redeveloped into a pedestrian-friendly square with large car-free plazas replacing much of the asphalt. The redevelopment project - dubbed Times Square Transformation - started in 2012 and is expected to be completed in 2016.

Art of Old Town Ipoh : Journey to the Murals.

http://www.ipoh-city.com/attraction/art_of_oldtown/
Our first destination in Malaysia was a small quaint town called Ipoh surrounded by limestone cliffs and lush greenery. Situated 200 kilometers to the north of Kuala Lumpur, it was Malaysia’s second city during British rule and the center of world tin industry. The city is quite famous for heritage, food and beautiful cave temples. On our very first day, we took the Heritage Trail ( more about this in the next post ) and a new addition to the Heritage trail is the “Art of Old Town Ipoh“, a walking tour hunting murals.

The old town walls have been changed into a piece of art by many different artists from all over the country and budding artists from the town, quite famous among them is Lithuania-born artist Ernest Zacharevic who has also painted murals on walls along the streets of Penang’s Georgetown.

Thinking about same, let me tell you, A mural is a piece of artwork which is painted or applied directly on a wall or other surface, incorporating it harmoniously with the architecture or other fixtures perfectly blending with surrounding objects to give a 3D effect.
